Lucille Covey 1943 Miss Winnipesaukee (pageant held Friday Sept. 3rd)

Miss Lucille Covey, 18, one of the six daughters of Mr. And Mrs. Lucius P. Covey of Court Street, bears the title of Miss Winnipesaukee 1943.

The pretty brunette who was in a red bathing suit is employed at Clearweave. Her sisters Eva and Althea accompanied her. She is a graduate of Laconia High School.

Runner up was Miss Elanor Frisco, daughter of an East Haven, Conn. Newspaperman, who wore a red and white bathing suit.

They received trophies at the Winnipesaukee gardens at The Weirs from WAVE Hazel Burbank, who was Miss Winnipesaukee in 1938 and 1939 and also was Miss Brocton. She was in uniform and served as a judge with the Picture Editor of the Hearst papers in Boston, Maurice Cassner of the New York press, and Walter and Arthur Murphy of Somerville.
